Literacy Phonics - see home learning pack
Story - Little Red Hen If you have this book at home, read it with your child. Get them to join in with the 'Not I' parts. If you don't have this book at home follow the link to a video of the story. Click here.
Today we will be writing a letter from one of the characters in the Little Red Hen story. Ask your child what the character might want to say to the Little Red Hen. Will it be a thank you letter? Should they say sorry? Remember capital letters and full stops. If your child wants to ask a question you could talk about and show the ?
Numeracy Addition to 20 - Bee Addition page in the Home learning pack - Week one

Use the numberline in your pack or Numicon shapes to add the 2 numbers together up to 20.
Art Try this challenge below, if you have the Pic Collage App your child could make a poster and send it to me for display on the school's facebook sight. Please make sure you are happy that any photos sent in can be put up on Facebook.
Today we will be looking all around and trying take pictures of the following items. You are only allowed to take one picture of each item, so take care to check the screen and make sure you are happy with the picture before you take it.
At the end, choose one of the pictures to recreate using pens, paint, crayons, collage - whatever you would like to use.

Tuesday 5th May 2020 Phonics - see home learning pack.
Choose a sound from your week one pack. Follow the instructions in the pack. See Google Classroom for tasks set for your child.
Sentence writing - Today we will be writing sentences about the picture. (See new home learning pack, week one, sentence writing). Look at the picture and talk about who is there. What is the character's name? What are they doing? Where are they going? You can use the word back cards - coloured words which were in the home learning pack. Or write tricky words on a sheet of paper for your child. Eg elephant, visiting etc. It will depend on your child's sentence ideas.
Write some sentences about the picture. E.G Dad is going to the zoo. The elephant is up the tree. Dad helped the elephant get out of the tree.
Focus on capital letters to start the sentence and full stops to end the sentence.
Today we will be learning about addition to 20 using counting on. Please watch the video in the link here- LESSON 4
You can choose to do the activity provided by Whiterose or the activity in your new pack. Week 1 - Add on a numberline. There was a numberline in your first home learning pack.
Phonics - Camera words - use the camera word cards and check which words your child can read on their own. Make a pile of tricky words and choose 5 of the tricky words. Set the 5 words on the table and read each one to your child. Ask them to say the word after you. Point out the first letter and the sound they should make when they read it. Place the cards around the room or stick on the walls/doors/windows. Play favourite song and have a disco. When the music stops call out one of the words. Your child should run to the word. They get a point if they are correct. Take turns to call out the words.

Numeracy Counting in tens and one. Today we will be looking at place value to 50.
If your child is finding it difficult to count out sets of tens and ones to 50, please try and keep the maximum number to 20.

Activity 1 may be tricky for some and if it is please focus on the practical activity 2. Try making other numbers - First up to 20 eg 15, 18. Then make numbers within 20 - eg 23, 26 and so on.

Phonics - Do an activity from your Phonics Activity book or the online activities using Phonics Bloom (see link)
IF using the online activity - Odd and Bob - your child will be learning to read real or fake words and distinguish between the two. If they are able to do the phase 2 words try phase 3 etc. Click here You can also practise the camera words your child is learning by clicking the 'custom words' link in the game and typing in camera words spelt correctly and some with errors. Can your child recognise the real and fake words?

Numeracy - Learning about ordinal numbers. First, second, third ...
Play games which use the language of 1st, 2nd, etc Run a race with family members and create a list of 1st, 2nd... Use different coloured toys and line them up. Which colour/toy is in 5th place? Play a game of snakes and ladders and talk about who came 3rd etc.
Use today to catch up on any activities you didn't have time to complete.

Literacy - Bug Club - Read a Bug Club book and answer the quiz.
Phonics - Camera words. Use the camera word cards as flashcards. Make a pile of camera words your child can read this week. It is important to check this to ensure retention of words. Choose 4-6 words they were unable to recognise and we will play a game. Sight word target practice - You can use any scraps of paper or paper plates to write the unknown words on. Stick the words on a wall or lay out on the ground. Call out a word for your child to throw a soft toy at it. If they hit the word give them one point. Take turns to make it more fun.
BBC Bitesize - describing words - Click here - Activity 1 - If your child is writing out the describing words, encourage them to sound out the words. Their spelling may not be perfect but it is important they try to sound out words independently and make an attempt at representing each sound. E.g. they may write purple as perpel, scary as scairee.
You may need to help by saying the sounds slowly for them.
Tuesday 21st April Literacy - Today we will be using BBC Bitesize to investigate our favourite books and make a list. Can you remember what a list is? (Complete activities 1 and 2 only) We will also be practising letter formation. Click here.

Numeracy - Starter - Rearrange What to do • In pairs, children shuffle a set of 0–20 number cards and lay them face down on the table in a row to make a ‘number track’. • The first person chooses any card, says the number and places it face up in the correct position on the ‘number track’. • The card already in that position is picked up by the other person, who places it face up in the correct position. • The activity continues in this way until all the number cards are in the correct positions. Variations • Children use a set of 0–20 number name cards. • Children use a set of 0–20 number picture cards.

Phonics - Camera Word Car Park. Make a carpark, or a street with houses for different toys. stick camera words in each location. Ask your child to 'park the car' at specific word locations.

Numeracy Starter - Rearranging the number track What to do • Arrange number cards 0–10 to look like a number track. • Say: Look at the number track. Count on in ones from zero to ten. • Say: Now count back from ten to zero. • Ask children to close their eyes. • Swap the positions of two number cards. • Ask children to identify the two numbers that are in the wrong positions on the number track. • Repeat for further pairs of numbers, then move on to swapping three numbers at a time. Variation • Use higher numbers, according to the level children are working at.

Camera words - Noughts and Crosses (see picture for reference). Use the camera words from this week that you are working on and pick two. One for you and one for a partner. Each time you pick a space and fill it with your word. As you pass the board over to your partner you read the word out loud. Start each round with a new word.

Take a look at any plants in your house or garden. Ask your family about how they look after the plants. Can you help take care of them?
Literacy - Reading - Bug Club online - try a quiz for your book too! Learning at home pack - Page 18, Writing sentences. Camera words - Choose 6 words from your pack. Look at the word, say it out loud then cover it. Can you spell the word? Say the letters or write the word. You can use coloured pencils, magnetic letters etc.
Numeracy - Starter - What’s the missing number? What to do • Say a sequence of numbers in order, leaving one out, e.g. 1, 2, 3, 5, 6. • Children say the missing number. Variation • Count backwards, e.g. 7, 6, 4, 3. Try with larger numbers.
