School Council
International Week
The Downpatrick Primary School Council recently held a ‘Landmarks’ Model Making Competition as part of its International Week.
One of the teachers who assist the school council, Mrs Esme Thompson said, “The School Council, which is made up of P4-P7 pupils elected each year, planned and organised the wide range of events to celebrate International Week. One part was a Model Making challenge for the children. The children had to create a 3-D model of a landmark somewhere in the world.
There were Eiffel Towers, Big Ben Towers, London Eyes, Leaning Towers of Pisa, Pyramids and many, many more.
The judges were school councillors from P5-P7 and they had a very difficult job to choose from all the entries. The winners received chocolate to celebrate their success.”
