Smarties Fractions in Maths!
P5 have been learning about fractions and equivalent amounts. They got to use a tube of smarties to help them count the total number of sweets and then write the amounts of each colour they had! At the end they recorded the fraction of sweets they ate and most of the answers were 22/22!

Around the World week- Amazon Jungle Show!
Some special visitors from the Amazon Jungle visited the P5 classroom this week! Catherine showed us some amazing animals such as a gecko, a frog, a lizard, a snake and even a tarantula! Huge thank you to Catherine from the Amazon Jungle Show for a fun, interactive and hands-on experience!

Dentist Visit to P5 Class
We had some special visitors from one of our local dental groups- Mullan Gallagher. We learned how much sugar is in some of our favourite drinks and how to brush our teeth properly using a big toothbrush and teeth models!

100th Day!
We celebrated the 100th day of school by playing maths games including 'racing to 100' and created sums to 100 using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division!

Internet Safety Day 2024
The P5 class enjoyed an online assembly linked with online safety thanks to BBC. We also read the story 'Troll Stinks' and wrote letters on how to use kind words to each other online instead of mean ones!
