House Activities
Poetry Slam
There was a ‘Poetry Slam’ as part of our special Poetry Week.
The pupils were asked to perform a poem on stage in front of an audience. They could choose a poem or write their own. The performances were judged by a panel of judges who had great difficulty picking out our winners! |
Sum Dog Winners
The Downpatrick Primary School P7 class are Top SUMDOGS for the third time in a row! Our P7s recently took part in an online Sumdog maths competition against 1000 pupils from almost 100 different schools across Northern Ireland.
During this week long competition the pupils had to answer 1000 maths questions whilst competing in a series of online maths challenges. The school finished first in the competition overall – scoring an average of 911 points out of 1000 beating 97 other schools. This is the third time in a row that the Downpatrick PS P7 class have won this competition. |
House Captains
The House Captains were selected by elections held across P4-P7.
They have to lead their houses and select teams for the different competitions. They have to be fair and make sure everyone who wishes gets the chance to represent their house. They have to show good sportsmanship and be generous in victory and gracious in defeat. |
